Those Nice Little Surprises

Aren’t little surprises great? Several weeks ago I (along with five other colleagues) was invited to have one of my photo’s as part of a permanent display for the Lexington Fashion Collaborative at LexArts in downtown Lexington. Wow…. talk about making my day!

It didn’t take but about a second for me to know which image I wanted for the display. It was one that I had shot with Gracie back in December. I did go through some of my other recent images that I really liked but I kept returning to this one.

Last night (January 23rd) at the first community meeting for the Lexington Fashion Collaborative for 2015 was the reveal of all the images going on display.

I’m thankful to be a part of this group, thankful for my friends and colleagues in this group, and thankful to Gracie for being such a wonderful model. I absolutely love working with Gracie.

If you like my work or want to see more images follow me on IG & Twitter @jimtincherphoto, visit my website http://www.jimtincher.com or subscribe to this blog as I promise there will be more exciting (to me) things to share with you and to tell you about this year!

Cheers!

Gracie Sapp – Miss Teen Kentucky USA 2013. From a photo shoot in December 2014. Gracie is my goto model, she’s amazing and I care so much about this girl. You can see more images of Gracie on my website http://www.jimtincher.com

I love my job as a photographer, I get to meet and work with so many different talented people. Each one has that something special which makes them unique. Sometimes along the way you run across a person that stands out just a little bit more than the others. There’s a connection that happens between you that’s really special, and you find that working on and developing projects is smooth sailing, and when it comes time to get the shot, it’s effortless.

I’ve been asked so many times, “what’s your favorite image”? Who do you like to work with the most? Who is your goto model? I generally don’t like those types of questions as I’ve enjoyed working with everyone that I’ve worked with. But to pin it down, then that answer is simple. If you’ve seen my Twitter, Instagram (both @jimtincherphoto) or my photography page you’ll notice that they are all covered with this girls face. I’m not sure how many models I’ve worked with in the past, they’ve all been wonderful. But when asked who my favorite person to work with is, you already know the answer. Gracie.

This was taken from a recent photo shoot. This image isn’t scheduled to be published but several images from that shoot are.

I Can’t Contain Myself…..

Caroline Ford from a photo shoot we did in October 2014. Love working with this gal. There are more images of Caroline at http://www.jimtincher.com

I can’t contain myself….
Well actually I can as I’m really a very low key person but I can’t begin to describe how excited I feel for this girl right here. Yes she’s been the subject of two other blog posts but this one is different.

This is a testament to sticking to your guns, working through and past prior setbacks. To continue and push forward with renewed vigor and determination. Always believing in yourself and in what you can accomplish regardless of prior outcomes.

You see, so many times in the past Caroline has been so close to winning the title of Miss Teen Kentucky USA or Miss Outstanding Teen Kentucky. Always finishing in the top every time but never quite reaching the pinnacle, even if it should have been her.

Last night, January 11, 2015 at the Ursuline Arts Center all that changed. Caroline is now Miss Kentucky Teen USA 2015! I can’t help but be proud of her. This morning as I look through my feeds, all I can see is the overwhelming love for her being poured out as she has finally reached the top!

Congratulations Caroline, it’s not that you deserve this, you’ve earned this!
